2025 - Rianna Turner, Mobile, AL
We are excited to announce that Rianna Turner will be the featured artist of 2025.
Rianna's passion for painting began in elementary school. After years of self-taught practice, she entered formal training at the University of Mobile, graduating in 2002 and again in 2006, with degrees in Communication, Counseling and Fine Art. For many years, she taught painting in different capacities along the coast and throughout the US.
Eventually, Rianna was able to settle in as a full-time working artist in Mobile, AL focusing her efforts from oils to mostly acrylics. Since then, she's drawn inspiration from unexpected color combinations, interesting compositions and the challenge of combining those elements to create modern impressionistic art that is striking and memorable. Most of her personal pieces provide a nod to her colorful, coastal upbringing in South MS.
Rianna works from her home studio in Mobile with her husband Steven and their 3 young children Ellyana and twins, Luke and Landry Claire, who all frequently “help” her with her art. There's nothing she loves more than being a stay-at-home Mom and Artist and picking Cheez-It crumbs out of her paintings!
Rianna maintains artist representation at multiple galleries across the Gulf Coast from Mississippi to Florida and her art images have been licensed for use in everything from children's clothing to national puzzle brands. For more information visit: https://www.riannaturner.com/.
“This piece was ultimately inspired by the atmosphere that our Mobile Bay Jubilees bring. Just like a party or festival, a Jubilee brings an exhilarating sense of anticipation and celebration. My goal was to essentially bottle up that joy (and a little confetti) and use it all as paint!” Rianna Turner.
